Russia Part 1

The palace was remodeled by Empress Elizabeth in 1752, making it more luxurious and using more than 100 kg of gold to gild the facade and the roof statues. The ornates gates are amazing by themselves. The Palace is usually associated with Catherine II of Russia (Catherine the Great) who again renovated it using the neo-Palladian style that is formal classical temple architecture of the Ancient Greeks and Romans.
